“To give you a sense of the power of the revamped Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus, I defer to the young girl seated next to me Friday night. OK, it doesn’t work as well in print because you can’t hear the high-pitched screams, a mix of terror and excitement. “That’s incredible,” she managed to say at one point, her eyes wide. “I’m scared!” she proclaimed later as performers prepared for another ‘death-defying’ stunt.”
